Brading Roman Villa
Morton Old Road, Brading, PO36 0ENBrading Roman Villa is a Grade 1 listed building and a fine example of a Roman courtyard villa. This is the largest of the villa designs and the type owned by the wealthiest Roman Britons.
Location
Travelling by car: take the A3055 from Ryde to Sandown. A mile after leaving Brading turn right 300 meters past the traffic lights.
Occupied for a continuous period of three centuries, the phase one Villa was constructed in about 80AD. As now preserved, the Villa reflects the taste and style of the 4th Century AD.
