Farleigh Hungerford Castle
Trowbridge, BAThe manor of Farleigh passed into the hands of the Hungerford family in 1370 and it was they who fortified it. The outer court and Priest’s House were added in the 15th century. By the beginning of the 18th century the castle had become a ruin. There is enough left, the towers, the walls and the court, however, to provide a fine example of a medieval manorial castle.
