Carnglaze
Carnglaze St Neot, Liskeard, PL14 6HQCarnglaze was originally an opencast quarry along the east bank of the Loveny river. About 300 years ago it was extended into the vast underground caverns visible today. Mining stopped around the end of the 19th Century at which time the mine was managed and subsequently purchased by Capt. E. Pascoe.
Location
Carnglaze Slate Caverns can best be found off the A38. There are brown tourist signs directing to Carnglaze about 5 miles out of Liskeard, just west of Doublebois and 1/2 mile east of Trago Mills coming from Bodmin.
From the A30 take the St Neot signs by The Jamaica Inn and come over Bodmin Moor past Colliford Lake into St Neot. Turn left at the junction by the Church and Carnglaze is 1 mile on the left hand side.
